Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists are medically trained health professionals, who help people suffering from injury, illness or disability. We use movement, manipulation, exercise, manual therapy, education and advice, to facilitate your body’s own natural healing ability.

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession and takes a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing, which includes the patient’s general lifestyle. At the core is the patient’s involvement in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment.

You can benefit from physiotherapy at any stage of your life. It can help with a variety of problems, from back pain, to sudden injury, or managing long-term medical conditions, such as arthritis, hypermobility or osteoporosis.

To accurately diagnose and treat your pain or injury, we will review your history to ensure that we understand how the problem affects you. We will conduct a thorough physical examination, which involves assessing your joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, and nervous system to establish the source of your pain or injury. Once we have a diagnosis, will start your treatment, which will take account of your lifestyle and expectations. We will explain the problem, ensure that you understand how the process will aid your recovery, and give you advice on how to prevent further problems.

Whether you are rehabilitating after surgery, developed pain through overuse, or suffered an acute injury, physiotherapy will speed up your recovery and ensure that your healing process is optimised.
