Back pain can be experienced due to a number of factors, from poor posture, muscle imbalance, poor core stability, to poor lifting technique. We consider every factor before recommending a treatment program, which may include; manipulation, mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, exercise to improve core strength, stability, posture, and pain relief.

Back pain first aid

  • Simple painkillers may help
  • Rest only if essential, no more than 2 days
  • Keep active within the boundaries of pain
  • Seek physiotherapy if symptoms last more than 3 days

If you experience severe pain, worsening over several weeks, or if you feel unwell with back pain, see your doctor. If you experience the following symptoms with back pain, see your doctor straight away:

  • Pins and needles, numbness, or muscle weakness in both legs
  • Difficulty controlling or passing urine
  • Numbness around your back passage or genitals
  • Unsteadiness on your feet
